COAL miners closed comfortably in the green on news of an explosion at one of Anglo’s mega hard coking coal mines in Queensland. Fortunately no one was injured (what a miracle!)….
Our miners rallied because the price of coking coal should rise due to this decent supply disruption that may last quite a while. $Whitehaven Coal Ltd (WHC.AU)$ increased 6.27%, $Coronado Global Resources Inc (CRN.AU)$ put on 8.86% and $Stanmore Resources Ltd (SMR.AU)$ added 5.08%. $BHP Group Ltd (BHP.AU)$

Hard Coking Coal prices popped 11% yesterday….Just a thing of beauty for $Rio Tinto Ltd (RIO.AU)$ , $Stanmore Resources Ltd (SMR.AU)$ and $BHP Group Ltd (BHP.AU)$ . All 3 are a BUY in my book…..( $Yancoal Australia Ltd (YAL.AU)$ & $New Hope Corp Ltd (NHC.AU)$ are mostly THERMAL COAL so won’t be getting as much gravy)

Chinese STEEL exports hit the highest level since 2016….After a decent pullback, HARD COKING COAL or MET COAL now looks to be heading back up. $Whitehaven Coal Ltd (WHC.AU)$ , $Stanmore Resources Ltd (SMR.AU)$ & $Coronado Global Resources Inc (CRN.AU)$ are the best exposures for this type of COAL.
