According to reports, President Trump's administration plans to cut billions of dollars in spending on support for childcare, health research, Education, and housing projects in its fiscal year 2026 budget proposal. The report cites preliminary documents that say the plan will also involve Community development and housing assistance, with the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) currently finalizing the plan. An OMB spokesperson stated, "No final funding decisions have been made yet." The New York Times quoted two people familiar with the matter as saying that the White House is expected to announce the budget as soon as next week. The report also mentioned that a second measure will be announced next week, which will cut previous funding for this fiscal year.
